Calculator inputs and results

The calculators process your entries in the current page's memory. We do not send those entries or results to our server, analytics service, advertising service or a partner. We do not save them in cookies, local storage, session storage, URLs, URL fragments or browser history. We do not maintain a stored calculator submission or account for you.

“Clear my figures” clears the form and page memory. Leaving or reloading the page does not create a saved worksheet with this site. Your browser or device may have its own functions outside this site's control; avoid shared devices for information you do not want others to see.

Links and state selection

“Copy page link” copies a clean page address with no calculator figures. The only navigation parameter the site permits is ?state=XX when you choose to open the OIC tool from a state reference page. XX is the two-letter state code used to preselect the state. It contains no financial information. No ZIP code, county selection, income, debt, asset, result or input-derived category is added to a link.

Saving or printing

Saving or printing happens only when you choose that option. Your device's print controls handle the destination. The printout contains your figures, assumptions, data version and calculation date. A PDF, printer queue, cloud print service or shared printer may retain that information according to your choices and its own practices. Check the destination before saving or printing sensitive figures.

Optional analytics

Analytics is disabled on this site. Calculator events are not sent to Google Analytics.

Ordinary website requests and hosting logs

Loading a page still requires a request to the website's hosting provider. Ordinary hosting logs may include the requested page, time, IP address, browser information and referral information. These are separate from calculator figures, which the site does not put into requests. Hosting and security log practices depend on the deployed service and configuration.

Official links and getting help

Official IRS links open an external site with its own privacy practices. You can use those resources yourself without submitting a worksheet to us. If you choose a tax professional or clinic, share records only through a channel you have verified with that provider. This site does not provide a document-upload or tax-representation service.

Policy changes

The effective date identifies the published version of this policy. When site practices change, update this page before enabling the affected service. A calculator privacy promise must describe what the site actually does, not just what its design intended.
